WHO WE ARE:
Women Writers and Artists Matrix (WWAM) is an association of kindred creative women dedicated to shifting the paradigm through creativity and social activism. We have been meeting the needs of women's creative communities through empowering art and writing retreats, readings, art exhibits and outreach events since 2009.
WHAT WE BELIEVE:
We believe creativity is a vital, necessary and empowering component of women's lives.
We believe in sharing wisdom through the arts, inspiring ourselves and others.
We believe in offering stimulating opportunities for exploring intersections between art and writing.
We believe in creating community and fostering safe, inspirational, intimate learning environments.
We believe in using our skills to serve our communities.
We believe in supporting women artists, writers and creatives who usually work in isolation.
WHAT WE DO:
WWAM offers weekend retreats, day long gatherings, online intensives and community events that are life-affirming, joyful, inspirational, educational and motivational. Our professional teaching staff welcomes women creatives at all skill levels.
We maintain an atmosphere of inspiration and intimacy. Our conferences and retreats also provide space for women to sell their books, artwork, crafts and other products. WWAM creates a priceless environment for women to share spirit, make connections, enjoy camaraderie, and receive personal attention as well as professional guidance.
WWAM provides opportunities for women of all ages to engage in spoken word events and exhibits. Their work has been shared at various venues including the Saratoga Springs Public Library, Beekman Street Studio, the Niche Gallery, Northshire Bookstore, Skidmore College, Lit Crawl LA, Hedgebrook Day Retreat, Urban Possibilities and Mount Saint Mary's University in LA.
